While there is no such thing as Hell, Venus might as well be it. Being the second closest planet to the sun, it was a clear thing that it would be a fairly warm planet. Venus is the closest planet to the Earth and is similar in size. Its gravity and bulk composition identifies it as being a sister of our home planet. Venus is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty due to it being one of the brightest sights in our sky. However ironically, when we were able to take a closer look we saw that Venus was quite the opposite, and if anything, was more like an evil twin from Hell. Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system, with surface temperatures reaching 482 degrees celsius. This is due to extreme greenhouse gases which effectively traps heat into the planet where it cannot escape the dense atmosphere. The planet’s atmosphere consists mainly of carbon dioxide which would choke any human being to death. Studies have suggested that several billion years ago, the Venusian atmosphere was much more like Earth’s than it is now, and that there were probably substantial quantities of liquid water on the surface, but a runaway greenhouse effect was caused by the evaporation of that original water. Some people believe that Venus is a future sight of the inevitable heating of our own planet Earth.
“We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.”
“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
“I want to examine that dangerous thing that’s common to Judaism and Christianity as well: the process of non-thinking called ‘faith’.”
“I want to say that killing for God is not only hideous murder — it is also utterly ridiculous.”
“One of the things that is wrong with religion is that it teaches us to be satisfied with answers which are not really answers at all.”
“If God wanted to forgive our sins, why not just forgive them? Who’s God trying to impress? Presumably himself, since he is judge and jury, as well as execution victim.”
In about 3-5 billion years time it is likely that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is going to collide with the Andromeda galaxy, this could potentially create a quasar (an active galactic nucleus powered by a supermassive black hole) the fate of our solar system, if this were to happen, can only be guessed, although by the time the two galaxies collide, the surface of Earth would have already become too hot for liquid water to exist ,ending all terrestrial life, which is currently estimated to occur in about 1.4 billion years due to the inevitable gradually increasing luminosity of our sun.
I’m going to attempt using this tumblr again for a different reason. At this point I see it as an easy enough way of sharing my passion for astronomy and other related interests. There’s no real point in reading posts previous to this as I do not support them on the same level anymore, possibly even disagreeing with their purpose as I feel that some are totally irrelevant even existing on this blog at all. If anyone who comes across this blog finds themselves sharing the same interests as me then feel free to raise discussions as I am always excited to participate in conversation in relation to topics that fall under the universe and the cosmos.
Anonymous asked: i noticed that when you cut your air, it seem to look like you were more yourself you were more a more active type person seem to show yourself more, then when you had the long straightened scene hair where you always looked coward and timid off in the corner, with you wanting to grow your hair long again will you go back to this stage?
you’re right, now that i think about it that is how it would have seemed. i don’t want to grow my hair back to how it was before, it don’t think i even want it very long like before, probably just a bit, just for something different. but to answer the question more specifically, i’m pretty sure after becoming comfortable at peters i was able to be myself more and i feel like i developed as a person. i think that is how i will be no matter what hair style i have now.

because of personal change.
I can never understand why people still sacrifice endless amounts of time in search for an answer to ‘what is the meaning of life?’ The answer comes to me so simply and so obviously. I don’t believe it even requires a lot of thought, and certainly nothing in need of searching for. Instead of wasting life, searching for the meaning, live life and you will master your own personal meaning. Live a good life, don’t hold back for fear of regret. Don’t let stupidity of a single moment ruin something in the long term. Be a generally kind and loving person and you will find your enemies changing into friends. However, do not be a pushover; live your life, love your life. Don’t be afraid of love, instead embrace it, for what is life without love? Life is empty, it is up to you now to fill it with all that can be filled. With that being said, I will announce what I believe to be the obvious answer to the question, ‘what is the meaning of life?’ If you disagree with my response feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions, I am happy to hear other opinions to which may influence my own answer. My response actually consists of two answers due to the fact that I believe there are two meanings of life. As human beings we are driven to make decisions in situations, influenced by our context, insight and mind. There are two main driving forces behind our minds which help influence our thoughts. These two being; our logical thoughts, and our emotional thoughts. Our logical thoughts always can be explained to make sense in a situation, however our emotional thoughts often hold no logic, which we cannot control because emotion overpowers our logical frame of mind. Therefore there is a logical meaning of life and an emotional meaning of life. The logical meaning of life is reproduction. It becomes so obvious, without reproduction, human beings would eventually die off and become extinct, creating no life at all, so the meaning of life therefore has to be reproduction, because without it, there would be no life. This answer doesn’t satisfy people’s needs because it is so logical that there is no emotion behind it at all. This is why I believe there is a second answer which can be merged into the big picture. That is, the emotional meaning of life. This answer, as cliche as it may sound, is love. Human beings hold a desire to feel that they belong and love is the key to belonging. Whether that be the love you share for your family and friends, the love you feel for your life, or mainly a deep connection you share with another human being. Love is the answer in terms of emotional question. I believe these two factors represent the true meaning of life.
What is change? The act or instance of making or becoming different. Well I suppose so, but why does it happen? I guess when change occurs, when a person changes they do not neccessarily foresee it or even know it has happened until one specific moment, where they realise in an epiphany like state, or are accused. I personally gather that context is the number one influence of change. An individual’s surroundings; new environment, new relationships. Although, how about when two people, once perfect for eachother, once completely understanding of eachother, drift apart because of change. Whether they both changed and differentiated from eachother or if this occured to only one, and the other remained the same. Change can be a great influence over the cause of break-up and or emotional separation. So what can we do about it, can we prevent this from happening to ourselves? I’m afraid not. Change is an emotional occurence, not a logical one. Therefore we cannot intellectually stop change from happening, it is absolutely inevitable and the only manageable way we can deal with it is by acceptance. Change is a scary concept, as we cannot prevent it and it has potential to destroy relationships. However, let’s not let the idea of change possibly happening, stop us from taking a leap of faith once every while…
She can see behind the mask. She’s aware of the disguised monster, and isn’t afraid. In fact she is willing to embrace it, I can’t believe it. For some reason this woman is able to see past all the lies, all of the cover ups and excuses. She can see through me. The only human being alive that holds knowledge of the monster is helplessly in love with me. I’m flattered, but I don’t buy it. Not for one minute. She doesn’t love me, she loves the idea of being helplessly in love because she and I are the same. We do not receive feelings, although I am content, and she seeks to feel something, anything.
Charming attractive women are the very weakness of man. This photo is of Jaime Murray who portrays the character ‘Lila’ in the television series ‘Dexter.’ She only features in the second season. She becomes dangerously obsessed with Dexter, and after he abruptly ends their relationship, she becomes an ongoing destructive force to him and those around him. Her actions are obsessive, psychopathic and persistent. However, no matter what she does, no matter how dangerous and threatening she becomes, I cannot help but feel something for her. If I found her unattractive, I’m more than positive that I wouldn’t feel the same. It’s a vain world and this is the reality.
We sit on social networking websites, communicating with eachother, sharing our distress of how the university ATAR cut off requirements are beyond our abilities. We waste time stressing about it, dreaming about it, instead of doing it. We come to this realisation, an epiphany like state, and then we go back to conversation. Technology has bested us once again.
Reading this shit at the moment.
All I can say for now is…Thailand is fucked!
